Window Installation Service
If you’re like most homeowners, then you appreciate letting natural light fill your house. Windows and skylights can add vibrant beauty to your home, making it feel more inviting and uplifting. However, as valuable as windows can be for the aesthetic and feeling of your house, they can also be a liability if you’re not careful. At AM Gutter Services, we want to discuss the potential drawbacks of old windows and skylights, and whether it’s time to replace and upgrade them.
The Cost of Inefficient Windows If you wanted to maximize the efficiency of your home’s insulation, then you would fill in all of your windows to make solid walls everywhere. Realistically, however, that’s not going to be an option (assuming that you like sunlight). Unfortunately, windows are typically the prime suspect when it comes to inefficient heating and cooling. Not only can there be small slits or gaps in the frame, but glass is nowhere near as good at insulating as the rest of your wall.
That being said, you want to make sure that all of your windows and skylights are as efficient as possible. However, if you haven’t paid attention to them lately, you could be losing a lot of money in your utility bill.
Inspecting Your Windows and Skylights If your home is more than 20 years old and you haven’t done anything to the windows or skylights, then chances are that they need upgrading.
Here are some ways to tell if they need work.
